If you love mountain trails and wish to enjoy an outdoor activity and discover a quiet and stunning mountain scenery, Hotel Lenno proposes a nice hike to the mountain lodge and astronomical observatory Venini, located at 1,576 m. (5,253 feet), just above Lenno.
You can complete your pleasant walk with a pause at the Rifugio which offers you the chance to taste local products: sliced meats, different kind of cheese, polenta, game and good wine!
The Rifugio Venini is a building dating from 1926; originally it was a military housing, but after WWI it was transformed into a mountain lodge. In fact, in front of the building you can see a small cannon dating back to the military period.
In the surroundings you can still see other signs of the past, in fact among the old tracks there are a few well preserved military emplacements, some great walls with niches and stone amphitheatres.
The Rifugio is open on weekends from April to November and every day during the Summer, from June to September.
