Comacina Island, the only island of Lake Como, is located in front of Ossuccio, on the western side of the lake, and faces a coast dotted with oliveyards that grow vigorously thanks to the mild climate.
On Sunday April 17th, as part of the event “Design at Comacina Island” it will be possible to visit the small artists residences located on the island, in addition to Villa Leoni, an elegant building on the shores of lake Como, just in front of the island. Villa Leoni, built in 1944, represents one of the main examples of the local rationalist architecture. The building is classified as a historical monument and is located on an area of great artistic and environmental interest, in a wonderful position overlooking the island and the beautiful Romanesque bellfry of the church of Santa Maria Maddalena di Ospitaletto.
